The Foundational Pillars TO optimal Health

In functional medicine, we focus on the modifiable lifestyle factors which serve to help support treatment, create resilience and treat the whole-person. In these lifestyle factors, we have community, vagal tone, stress transformation, sleep, basic nutrition, healthy movement, and fasting along with other more complex nutritional interventions.
We know that food is medicine and information.
We know that sleep, exercise, and stress management is incredibly important for building our resilience.
We know the value of social connection, positive relationships with self and others and the significance of belonging in a world that is easy to find yourself detached from.
By focusing on these modifiable lifestyle factors and finding ways to make these interventions attainable and sustainable, progression towards disease can be prevented and/or the cycle of chronic dysfunction can be alleviated. In addition, these lifestyle interventions can often be low or no cost, outside of a time commitment.
