It’s finally here! My favorite season of all.
I’m a freckly-pale, kinda-ginger, so the frigid cold makes me shiver and the summer heat turns me into a cherry. Spring is the perfect balance. I also LOVE being able to enjoy my morning smoothies without freezing on the way to school.
Store-bought smoothie bowls can often be LOADED with sugar (either added or just with its high-fruit content). In other words, making them at home is always a better option. I’ve been experimenting with frozen zucchini and cauliflower and WOW. It not only helps thicken the smoothie but adds SO many healthy nutrients.
It also helps lessen the fruit content. I tend to use only 1/2 a banana in my smoothies and it still tastes delicious!

You can also add your favorite toppings (seeds, grain-free granola, berries, etc.) for some added crunch!
My recipe:
2 handfuls of frozen zucchini
1 cup frozen cauliflower (boil prior to freezing!)
1 cup frozen beet greens
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup blueberries/raspberries
1 tsp spirulina
1 tbsp moringa powder
1 tbsp Amazing Grass greens powder
1 tsp matcha powder
1 tsp Gaia Herbs “golden milk” blend (turmeric, black pepper, date palm, and vanilla)
But of course, it’s up to you! Smoothies are so versatile, so don’t hold back with your creativity! π HAPPY SPRING!
